Either May 14th (which is also Mother's Day so it might not be a good option) or June 11th. Both are Sundays. Please post on the thread as well as just voting. I really need to gauge who wants to do this and how many people will come. It is a HUGE out of pocket expense for me, I mean huge....but I am willing to do it if people will come. If I can't get enough responses on this within a few weeks, well, we'll all just have to drop back and punt. For information puposes...
Car and driver $10 fee. You do NOT have to buy a track number to run this event.
Spectator fee $5
Concessions, ambulance/fire-crew, deputy, starting line, water box, tower, time slip.....everything will be worked. It will be just like a race day just without all the cars in your way. There will be no official bracket race. I will however see how many people want to do a gambler's race. For those that don't know, that is when those racing pool money together and winner takes all. This is traditionally done in bracket fashion. All else will be test-and-tune and grudge racing.
Gates to open early as always and race to run from either 1pm-5pm or 2pm to 6pm. Will know more when I solidify the deal.
Everybody came here to get to know, meet, and stay in touch with people in South Ga. Show me. Come on now and tell some people!! Let's get it on!!!

There's no way I am gonna break even, but it's okay, I just really want to do this. We'd have to have close 200 cars plus spectators to break even. Some may say, oh you'll get that and make money. Well, I am not looking to make money at all, I am looking to have fun. If I come away only getting $1000 of my money back, I'll be okay with that. |

Edit,, I posted it on www.street-machines.org a Columbus site.. to spread the word. _________________ Mike

Count me in, with at least one spectator. I can probably get a couple local Tifton racers to come too if ya want, long as ya don't mind some 6 second cars over there. _________________ Eric aka(Morkai)

Morkai,
Don't mind having the 6 second cars there at all. One guy on here is involved with an Outlaw 10.5 car and they will probably be there too. John is going to prep the track good for us.
Daniel,
Sounds good. Maybe next time we can go to Douglas, then possibly Macon, etc. I think it would be neat to switch up locations each time we do this to try and get near everybody once. |
