How true, LS1s are slow junk,I should know.Had one for 3-4 years. Think The best time I ever got out of it was a 6.91 with drag radials, gas mileage sucked too, only got like 20-21 mpg with H/C headers, converter, gears ect...man that thing was junk,Im sure it got beat all the time, just cant remember any of them(probably since there was so many times)God I hated that car.Glad I got this 87 Mustang now! Its a real car! Sarcasm off. _________________ current toy

It was a small dose of it. I think the most ever on it was 125, correct me if I am wrong. One thing though, with the heads, cam, and instake, plus gears, the thing got killer gas mileage!! I can't remember what it ran N/A, but it was in the 7's. Not bad at all for a heavy car. |

A good bud of mine bought a 94Z28 auto new w/the 3.23 gear and GSC tires. With a throttle body air foil, gutted cat,Flowmaster cat back, and nearly bald tires it went 8.80 with a 2.3 60ft. On a 100 shot it went 8.30 with the same sucky 60ft. Spraying in 1st @ 4k would chirp the tires till 2nd. Tried spraying @ 3k and it would blow the tires off. After 3 or 4 bad launches I made the 8.30 After that it would stumble whenever u sprayed it. The ground straps had burnt off all the plugs. I believe it would have dipped in the high 7's with a stall and sticky tires.
And it would still peg the 160 speedo. _________________ 87 Buick T Type,91 Mustang GT,67 GTO vert.

when I went 7.92 I had everything stock down to the air filter except for the compucar plate kit, it was an auto with the 3.23s. I think the 60' was a 2.0. On motor the car would only run 9.20s. I later had a nitrous accident where I accidently sprayed the car from an idle. It bent 3 rods and broke 3 piston skirts. _________________ Tony Weeks

You guys kill me!
The true test of what car is fastest or quickest, is in it's stock form.
Modded cars are far too subjective to evaluate. What are the rules, the bench marks? Even in racing trim, there are class regs to meet. Anyone can build a faster Vette or Mustang. Hell, I was running mid 7's back in 1972, in a 1923 Ford T-bucket with an Alky Hemi. Could that MoPar powered Ford beat a street Mustang or Vette? Yep!
No. You have to measure each by what the factories offered. Moded machines are irrelivent, except in Street racing, where there are no build rules. Most of that argument is BS and psyc anyway.
Just my opinion guys... _________________ Thanks,
