I have an aluminum 4.6 teksid block that I need (torque) plate bored, anyone know where a machine shop is that plate bores 4.6's? I also kinda wanna get it align honed (crank journals), anyone know anything about that? I figure Mike might know someone with a plate boring setup. _________________ Life begins when you have a turbocharged v-8 mustang |

I called them today, little pricey, but they are the only people within decent driving distance (45 miles) that have the capabilities. $300 to bore it with the plates and $125 for a fresh deck surface, it should be right though. He told me to bring him my pistons and he would match each cylinder to each piston if there are any tolerance differences in the pistons themselves. They (SHM) say to align hone the crank journals, but to be honest with you, a 6 bolt main isn't going to wander much from factory spec if you know what I mean.
So far, just my machine work is totalling out to:
Boring block: $300
Decking block: $125
Turning crank: $80
Balancing rotating assembly: $175
Total: $680
Thanks ITSAV6! _________________ Life begins when you have a turbocharged v-8 mustang |

They have a real good rep with the Buick camp. I knew they had the mod tq plates cuz my pal Kris had called them about building his motor but he took it somewhere else since they were $1,000 higher on building his complete engine. _________________ 87 Buick T Type,91 Mustang GT,67 GTO vert.
